Connectedness is the idea that each soul is connected to each other and part of a larger consciousness. It doesn’t matter whether you call that consciousness God, The Universe, or a Higher Being. It allows us, as Humanity, to relate to each other, feel for each other, and understand this process of Life we are going through.
This is the first Universal Law – The Law of Oneness.
We all came from the same place. We all came from the same source. Individually and together we make up The Whole.
Everything around us, including ourselves, is energy. Since there is no beginning and no ending to energy, we all blend into each other, into everything and everywhere at the same time. We, as humanity, are the sun, the trees, the earth, and the animals all at once.
The reality we created is interconnected with all living beings, meaning one being cannot be without the other.
Holistic Counselor, Dr. Katana, uses a helpful visual to put things into perspective. She explains, “Envision an outline of a human body. Inside this human body are trillions of tiny cells. Each cell has a purpose. Whether those cells are in the heart, brain, or in your liver, they have a job or function. These cells work individually for their specific purpose, but also work as part of the overall functioning of the whole body. The body cannot live without most cells working properly. All the cells originated from the same body although they are spread out into different parts. If you damage your liver, it will affect your other organs. All cells need to work together to keep the body healthy and moving forward.”
“You cannot mistreat one without an effect on all.”
We look around at our fellow man, especially within recent events, and find it difficult to see Oneness.
If we are all supposed to be connected – then how can we be this divided?
Generally speaking, how do I connect with my fellow man when I refuse to endorse their behaviors, their thoughts, and their decisions? How am I suppose to help or relate to someone I cannot stand to be around? How do I maneuver around my feelings of hate and anger toward someone or a group? Toward Humanity?
Reminder #1: Realize that we all have life lessons to learn.
Our souls came down to earth to live as humans and to have this experience. We wanted to be in this life with all of its ups and downs. We came specifically for this moment in time, to endure this journey, exactly in this manner.
Therefore, you shouldn’t judge another as if you know what they’re going through. We all have been given life lessons to learn during our time here. Some lessons may be humility, patience, love, or forgiveness. These lessons are for us to undergo and are not problems for anyone else to fix.
Let’s take an example – a man is standing next to you being hateful and yelling hurtful words to a woman. Maybe the lesson for that man is to learn about karma. Maybe the challenge for the woman is to learn strength and forgiveness. Maybe in a past life, she was the one yelling hateful remarks. Or maybe the lesson is for you to step in, stop the yelling and show compassion.
Whichever the case, do not judge because we all have been there, in one lifetime or another. We are all learning as we go. Just because some of us have already learned how not to show ignorance, hate, and cruelty, does not mean everyone else has yet.
Reminder #2: We all have free will.
We have been blessed to have free will; to make our own choices regardless of the life we have chosen. Our creator has given us the beautiful ability to think for ourselves. We must also understand that our decisions and actions have ripple effects on our soul, humanity, earth, time and dimension. The action is energy and therefore it has a cause and effect. This is called karma.
What most people don’t realize is that karma does exist, and it is complex and very powerful. It’s so powerful, that one can carry their karmic baggage throughout multiple lifetimes.
As you look around and feel disappointed about the actions of certain groups or individuals, remind yourself that they have to live with those choices. At the moment those people may feel vindicated by what they are doing but know down to your core that what goes around comes around. We may not be around to witness it, but have faith that this is how our universe works. They will face what they need to face when it is their time.
Reminder #3: All you need is LOVE
Why is this is the hardest thing to comprehend? Are we that cynical and hardened by people that this idea is impossible to believe?
It is too simple and too easy to be the answer to our problems, isn’t it? It is especially hard to believe because it seems not everybody loves. At the end of the day, love will always win. Yes, it’s hard – let’s be real.
But you can’t beat anger with anger. You only fuel that energy. Sometimes, it looks like Hate is winning. We have protests, wars, shootings but we also have communities coming together like never before to show love and compassion for one another. When beaten down by the negativity on TV or social media, choose to turn it off and go out and do something nice for someone else. You will feel so much better.
With Love, all things are possible. We need to take that free will of ours and choose LOVE.
LOVE = LIGHT
The more light you give, the brighter it shines. For where there is light, there can be no darkness.
Here is the bottom line – dealing with Humanity can be depressing and can sometimes feel hopeless. Even though our differences may be vast, remember that the same thread holds us all together.
We are one.
The Universe is a microcosm of our bodies and like our bodies, if there is an injury or sickness, all of the cells work together to help heal. And since we are connected souls, so should we.
