It’s not uncommon for people to believe they have a special psychic ability. From knowing someone is going to call before the phone rings, predicting a winning lottery number, or even what you’re going to order from your favorite restaurant based on how you feel about it, these are all examples of clairsenses that we may possess without realizing it.
The truth is that there are many different types of clairsenses and anyone can be gifted with one or more at any time in their life. Clairs themselves come from Latin meaning “clear” so when someone says they have a “clair,” what they mean is that something has been made clear through some type of sense experience such as intuition, insight, visioning or feeling.
Most of us are capable of tapping into these clairsenses, not only to tune into higher realms and receive messages from loved ones, guardian angels or Higher Self.
Find out which clairsense you are naturally attuned to. By opening your heart and mind, and learning not to dismiss these misunderstood signs, all of us are able to improve our clairsenses to some degree.
Which One of the Major 6 Clairsenses Do You Resonate With?
Clairvoyance – “Clear Seeing”
It is arguably the most prolific of all the clair senses and is a term that most of us will be familiar. A Clairvoyant sees subjects, maybe of departed loved ones, of important future events or of situations occurring in the present but in a far-removed location.
As a clairvoyant you distinguish between one’s imagination and the vivid imagery that constitutes clairvoyance. To do this is you simply open the mind and remain open to the concept of clairvoyance, as abstract as it may initially seem. It looks like you might have clairvoyant abilities that are waiting to be unveiled. Visual people such as artists, builders, photographers, and decorators, if this sounds familiar, your clairvoyance is most likely a dominant sense.
Clairaudience – “Clear Hearing”
‘Clairaudience’ is the ability to receive sounds and messages unable to be heard by most. There are so many ways in which these messages are heard. It may sound as if someone is speaking right next to you or at other times it may sound like a much louder version of our “voice in our head “, the one that we hear throughout the day.
Not everything sensed by those with this clair comes from the spirit world. For spirit to produce audible noise, it takes an enormous amount of energy. Only during highly significant occasions does this clair sense kick in, this is what sets these sounds apart from day-to-day internal noise and helps us differentiate the profound messages that may need to be acknowledged. It is not surprising that those who are great listeners and learn best when information is given aloud, are likely to have clairaudient abilities.
Clairsentience – “Clear Feeling”
Clairsentience is known as ‘clear feeling’ yes, those ‘gut feelings’ we feel in certain situations are most likely to be rather important messages that we should not ignore. Think about a time you met someone and instantly experienced a profoundly positive or negative subconscious reaction. This individual may have not displayed any behavior that would incline you to feel this way towards them, yet the feeling is stark and clear. This is a demonstration of one’s clairsentience acting and is a lot more common than you might believe. Sometimes clairsentience can even entail experiencing another person’s physical pains. A person who works in careers that require emotional sensitivity or an emphatic bedside manner are likely to have the strongest clairsentient abilities amongst us.
Clairalience – “Clear Smelling”
Clairalience, means ‘clear smelling’ and describes the ability to detect odors that have no physical source. This particular clair is often incredibly vivid. This is very close to our memories and can be a quite an emotional experience when it occurs. it often channels through the spirit of a passed loved one, meaning that a sudden familiar waft is the work of clairalience at play.
Often times this is a sign that a loved one is watching over us during a particularly emotional time. It is not surprising that working in highly scent-oriented fields can encourage development of clairalience. We just should be open-minded and receptive to the amazing sensations we receive from higher realms. When you just know a particular odor is special, it most certainly is.
Clairgustance – “Clear Tasting”
Clairgustance is the psychic ability of taste. People who are gifted with clairgustance abilities are able to taste different substances without the presence of anything in their mouths at that time.
As a result, these individuals can receive psychic messages through specific and familiar flavors that appear in the mouth as if from nowhere. For instance, as a comforting reminder that a departed friend is nearby, expect to experience this flavor on occasion as a message of their love. Psychics are reported to have experienced the overpowering flavor of chemicals, blood or harmful substances that may indicate how a victim may have died.
Claircognizance – “Clear Knowing”
Clair knowing. This is when you just suddenly know something. Even though you didn’t see it, hear it, or feel it. You know it to be true. It is sudden insight or information that needs to be explained. Claircognizance can be felt as a surprising idea or an unstoppable thought. We are shown truths that into our minds from seemingly nowhere. This could be a premonition or a warning of something in the future that will happen.
Claircognizance requires a lot of faith because there’s often no real explanation for why we suddenly “know”. Many leaders can tend to be highly intuitive and seem to just know the facts with certainty. Is this you, claircognizance is most likely one of your dominant senses?
Ultimately, all of us possess the ability to use our clairsenses if we so wish to. Some of us will be drawn to certain senses, and others may never gain the ability to tune in to these psychic intuitions at all. It is important that we remain open-minded and responsive to these signals as often they carry very important messages. The aim is to no longer dismiss these messages but to try and gain something special from them when they become apparent.
